Peak offers a free annual academic check-up for all Peak families with the express purpose of identifying potential academic concerns before they develop into significant problems and to help families plan for students’ academic futures.
So many families tell us that they wished they’d come to us sooner for help. Once student struggles are identified, the sooner quality interventional strategies are implemented the better. Unfortunately, for a number of reasons, students often come to us having experienced struggles for several years without effective intervention. During this time, students do not develop successful academic skills and habits, or worse, develop poor ones. In addition, as the struggles continue, students’ self-confidence and attitude toward school can erode significantly. Once these bad habits and negative attitudes become entrenched over multiple years, addressing and remedying the issues becomes much more challenging, requiring significantly more time, energy, and cost.
It can be useful to think of Peak’s annual academic check-ups like going to the doctor for an annual physical. The hope, of course, is a clean bill of academic health. However, importantly, if there are any issues, ideally, they have not yet become serious and can be easily remedied. At Peak, we are committed to ensuring our students and families experience a happy, successful academic journey year after year.
