BS Mathematics – Westminster College
M.Ed. Math Education – Penn State University
Sandy has always loved helping people learn and was inspired to teach math by all the wonderful teachers she had in high school. After receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics from Westminster College (PA), she went on to receive her Masters Degree in Math Education at Penn State University. Sandy taught high school math in Maryland for several years and then got the opportunity to teach at the college level. She has taught mathematics at Penn State University, University of North Carolina at Wilmington, and most recently at Pennsylvania College of Technology. Much of her experience has been teaching underprepared freshmen and adults returning to college. Sandy has also coordinated math placement testing, trained tutors, and helped students with math study skills. After 44 years of teaching, she retired to Wilmington to be near family. Missing the contact with students, she began working at Peak. Sandy enjoys pickleball, biking, reading, baking, and sharing time with family.
