Molly earned her BS in Biology with a concentration in Ecology from West Chester University of PA. Upon graduating, she decided to stay in West Chester, PA and continue on to earn a Master’s degree. While at West Chester, she studied the musculature in the fins that sting rays use for locomotion. She then moved to Wilmington to begin her PhD in Marine Biology in 2013 at the University of North Carolina Wilmington. Currently, she is studying the biochemical properties and morphology of the fat of diving animals. While at UNCW, Molly has taught Human Anatomy and Physiology, Ichthyology and Animal Physiology to undergraduates. Not only is she passionate about science and research, but she also enjoys helping students develop their own passion for learning. Molly has also studied the pedagogy of teaching college students. She is very interested in how students learn as well as figuring out ways to increase an individual’s academic success. In her free time, she enjoys going to the beach, reading mystery novels and baking sweets.
